Start-stop no longer activates
The car has detected a weak battery.
If your engine switches off at the lights, it needs a specialist battery. We fit the correct AGM or EFB battery and register it to your car’s computer, so start-stop and charging keep working properly.
Start-stop engines restart dozens of times on every trip, so they use EFB (enhanced flooded) or AGM (absorbent glass mat) batteries built for deep, repeated cycling. A standard battery fitted instead can fail within months.
Many cars also monitor battery age and adjust charging to suit. When a new battery is fitted, it needs to be registered with the car’s battery management system — otherwise it can be over- or under-charged.
